Clarion University got a pair of first half goals from Mackenzie Stover in route to handing the Lady Cat soccer team a 3-0 loss in Pitt-Johnstown's PSAC home opener Saturday afternoon at the Pitt-Johnstown Soccer Field. The Lady Cats fell to 0-2-0 overall and 0-2-0 in the PSAC.

Stover opened the scoring in the fifth minute off of an assist from Alyssa Liebdzinski. Ten minutes later, Stover took Megan Lawson's breakaway pass from midfield and beat Lady Cat goalkeeper
Timi Shiock to give Clarion a 2-0 halftime advantage.

Liebzinski's blast from the top of the box in the 60
th minute increased the lead to 3-0 and that was all the Golden Eagles would need.

Shiock gave up two goals and made one save.
Leeann Gorman, who replaced Shiock in the 17th minute, allowed one goal and made six saves. Laura Saussol made three saves and didn't allow a goal for Clarion, which out shot Pitt-Johnstown 16-6.

With the victory, Clarion improved to 2-0-0 overall and 2-0-0 in the PSAC.

Pitt-Johnstown will host PSAC matches against Lock Haven University on Friday and Bloomsburg University on Saturday. Both matches will kick off at 1:30 at the Pitt-Johnstown Soccer Field.Â
