Pitt-Johnstown hit 24-26 from the free-throw line, including two from
Nate Snodgrass with three seconds remaining to break a tie and lead Pitt-Johnstown to a 71-69 victory at Bloomsburg University on Saturday.Â
Ian Vescovi's game-high 16 points led the Mountain Cats, now 9-4.

In a tight first half that saw five ties and four lead changes in the first 10 minutes, the Mountain Cats open-up a slim 14-11 lead on a 3-pointer by
Andrew Cressler and a lay-up by
A.J. Leahey.

Bloomsburg scored the next eight to go in front 19-14 on a 3-pointer from Jon Riles at 9:06, but
Bill Luther scored nine points in a 13-1 Pitt-Johnstown run that gave the lead back to the Mountain Cats at 27-20 with 3:50 left in the first half.

After a more than half hour delay because of a medical emergency in the stands, Bloomsburg came back out and outscored Pitt-Johnstown 13-0 the rest of the way to take a 33-27 halftime lead on Charles Hagler's bucket at the buzzer.

The Huskies continued the run in the second half and extended it to 20-4 on Lorenzo Christmas' 3-pointer to build the lead to 40-31.

Pitt-Johnstown came right back with free-throws from
Paul Weatherly and Snodgrass to pull to within two at the 15:36 mark, but Bloomsburg matched its nine-point lead four minutes later with a basket from Dontahe Jordan.

Another Mountain Cat run, this time a 12-1 spurt capped by Luther's lay-up, gave Pitt-Johnstown a 58-56 advantage at 7:50.

It remained close the rest of the way, but Snodgrass, who made 7-8 from the line on the day, connected on the game-winners with three seconds to play.

Vescovi had 16 points and five rebounds, while Luther had 14 points and Snodgrass finished with a dozen points.Â
Matt Palo chipped-in eight points and
Adam Shaheen collected seven points and six rebounds.

Luther currently stands in 24
th-place on the Mountain Cat All-Time Scoring List with 1,033 points, and third on the career-3-Point Filed Goals List with 219.

Pitt-Johnstown shot 42.9% (21-49) from the floor and 5-14 from beyond the 3-point line, but made 24 of its 26 free-throws in the win. Bloomsburg was held to just 35.3% (24-68) shooting, including 5-21 from 3-point range. The Huskies were also just 16-23 from the charity stripe.

Riles scored 13 points, and Jordan tallied eight points and a game-high 11 rebounds to lead the Huskies, now 8-4.

The Mountain Cats host a doubleheader with the Lady Cats against 10th-ranked East Stroudsburg University on Wednesday, before hosting a PSAC doubleheader with the women's team on Saturday against California University (PA)
