th-ranked East Stroudsburg University broke open a six point halftime lead with an 18-8 run to open the second half on its way to an 81-68 victory over the Mountain Cats, Wednesday night in the Sports Center.Â
Andrew Cressler's 19 points led the way for Pitt-Johnstown, now 9-5 on the year.

East Stroudsburg ran out to a quick 8-0 lead on back-to-back 3-pointers from Rasheed Moore and Whis Grant, but Pitt-Johnstown clawed back to cut it to 12-11 on
Paul Weatherly's lay-up and free-throw at14:35.

Moore's bucket with 8:46 left in the half extended the Warriors' lead back out to eight, before
Ian Vescovi's free-throw with just under a minute remaining made it a two-point game at 34-32.

However, East Stroudsburg scored the final six points, including a Matt Tobin driving lay-up as time expire, to rebuild the lead to 38-32 at the half.

East Stroudsburg came out on an 18-8 run to push its lead to 56-40 on three consecutive Jamal Nwaniemeka's 3-pointers 5:31 into the second half.

Tobin's bucket extended it to 18, but Pitt-Johnstown got it down to 10 on Cressler's jumper at 7:26.

That was as close as the Mountain Cats would get. The Warriors built it to as many as 19 with three minutes to play, before going on to the 13-point win.

Cressler scored a team-high 19 points and pulled down six rebounds, while
Matt Palo added 14 points for the Mountain Cats in the loss. Vescovi finished with seven points and a game-high 13 rebounds.Â

The Mountain Cats closed out the night shooting 42.9% (27-63) from the field, but just 2-10 from 3-point range and 12-23 from the free-throw line. East Stroudsburg shot 42.0% (29-69) from the floor. However the Warriors knocked down 12 3-pointers and hit 11-15 from the charity stripe.

Nwaniemeka's game-high 20 points led East Stroudsburg. Grant scored 15 points and Moore finished with 13 points for the Warriors, who remained undefeated and improved to 14-0.

The Mountain Cats will host a PSAC doubleheader with the Lady Cats against California University (PA) on Saturday beginning at 1 p.m. in the Sports Center, before traveling to Seton Hill for another conference doubleheader next Wednesday.
