Mercyhurst University had a pair of goals in each half to deal Pitt-Johnstown a 4-0 PSAC loss Tuesday afternoon at the Mercyhurst Soccer Field in Erie. The Lady Cats fell to 0-13-0 overall and 0-11-0 in the PSAC.Â
Fawn Molholland scored the first goal of the match off of a corner kick from Janine Wong in the fourth minute, before Emily Leiby capitalized on a long pass from Wong in the 21st minute to put the Lakers up 2-0 at the half.Â
Lauren Testa opened the scoring in the second half for Mercyhurst after recieving a pass in the middle of the box from Linnea Latinen in the 47th minute. Seven minutes later, Latinen added the fourth and final goal of the match.Â
Timi Shiock suffered the loss in net after seeing 27 Laker shots and making 12 saves. Ellie McDougall earned the shutout in goal for Mercyhurst. The Lakers improved to 4-8-1 overall and 2-8-1 in conference play.
Pitt-Johnstown hosts a conference match against Gannon University on Saturday at the Pitt-Johnstown Soccer Field at 1:30 p.m., before traveling to West Chester University on Wednesday for another PSAC match.Â
