5th-Ranked East Stroudsburg Shuts Out Lady Cats, 5-0

Fifth-Ranked East Stroudsburg University scored three first half goals, including a pair in a span of two minutes, en route to a 5-0 PSAC victory over the Lady Cat soccer team, Saturday afternoon at the Pitt-Johnstown Soccer Field. The Lady Cats fell to 0-16-0 overall and 0-14-0 in PSAC-play.

Laurel Neira scored off of Amanda Vojta's corner kick in the 20th minute to five the Warriors a 1-0 lead.  Then, Lauren Brophy and Andrea Polanco added goals in the 41st and 42nd minutes to give East Stroudsburg a 3-0 halftime advantage.

The Warriors tacked on two more insurance goals in the second half.  Olivia Davidovich capitalized on a scramble in the box in the 69th minute, and ten minutes later, Kendall Galvin scored to set the final at 5-0. 

Leeann Gorman suffered the loss in net for the Lady Cats after seeing 25 shots and making 9 saves. Jess Hetrick earned the shutout in goal for the Warriors after making one save. 

East Stroudsburg improved to 14-1-0 overall and 13-1-0 in the conference. 

The Lady Cats will end the 2014 season at the Pitt-Johnstown Soccer Field against Shippensburg University on Friday, before celebrating Senior Day on Saturday against Millersville University. Both games will begin at 1:30 p.m.
