East Stroudsburg connected on its first five 3-pointers and charged out to a 21-2 lead seven minutes into the game on its way to handing the Mountain Cats a 100-57 road PSAC Crossover loss on Saturday.Â
Matt Palo scored 17 points for Pitt-Johnstown, which fell to 6-5 overall and 3-4 in the PSAC Western Division.

Whis Grant hit three early 3-pointers to help the Warriors open-up a 14-0 lead to start, before
Ian Vescovi's bucket got the Mountain Cats on the board at the 15-minute mark of the first half.

East Stroudsburg scored the next seven to increase it to 21-2. Six more points from Vescovi cut it to 21-8, but East Stroudsburg countered with a 20-1 run over the next five minutes to build the lead to 41-9 at 7:10. Steve Harris scored six consecutive points to increase it to 31-8, and two Lamont Tillery free-throws capped the run to extend it to 41-9.

The Mountain Cat, who shot just 31% and 0-8 from 3-point range in the first half, were able cut the deficit to 43-16 an
Matt Palo's lay-up, but the Warriors pushed the lead out to as many as 38 at 60-22 with under a minute to go on two of Rasheed Moore's 16 first half points. Palo then hit two free-throws with 24 seconds left to make it 60-24 at the half.

The Warriors continued to build on the lead in the second half. Harris' dunk at 11:45 made it a 40-point lead, before East Stroudsburg extended it to 49 at 97-48 on back-to-back Jakwan Jones 3-pointers with 3:44 to play.

Palo finished with 17 points and seven rebounds, and Vescovi added 13 points and a game-high nine rebounds to lead Pitt-Johnstown. The Mountain Cats also got six points and seven rebounds from
A.J. Leahey and six points from
Nate Snodgrass.

The Mountain Cats struggled shooting the ball. Pitt-Johnstown shot just 36.5% (19-52) from the field, including just 2-17 from behind the 3-point line. Pitt-Johnstown was 17-20 from the free-throw line. East Stroudsburg shot 51.4% (38-74) from the floor, 13-27 from 3-point range, and 11-13 from the charity stripe. The Warriors also turned 28 Pitt-Johnstown turnovers into 38 points.

Grant score 18 points and grabbed five rebounds, and Moore chipped-in 18 points to pace five Warriors who scored in double figures. With the win, East Stroudsburg raised its record to 7-3 overall and 6-1 in the PSAC East.

The Mountain Cats travel to PSAC Crossover games at West Chester on January 3 and Cheyney on January 4, before returning home to host a conference crossover doubleheader with the Lady Cats against Millersville on January 7. The Lady Cats will tip-off at 5:30 p.m. in the Sports Center, followed by the men's game at 7:30 p.m.Â
