IUP Downs Lady Cats in PSAC Soccer

Johnstown, PA

Box Score 1796

Indiana University (PA) netted a pair of first half goals, then made them stand up in a 2-0 PSAC victory over the Lady Cat soccer team, Wednesday afternoon at the Pitt-Johnstown Soccer Field.  Pitt-Johnstown fell to 0-3-0 overall and 0-2-0 in conference-play.

Taylor Vladic's blast from the top of the box gave the Crimson Hawks a 1-0 lead just under 10 minutes into the match, before Victoria Crawford's header off of Brandie Bryant's cross found the back of the net behind Lady Cat goalkeeper Timi Shiock in the 40th minute to make it 2-0.

That's all IUP goalkeeper Jessica Printz would need.  Printz faced eight Pitt-Johnstown shots and made three saves to secure the shutout.  Shiock saw 19 Crimson Hawks' shots and made five saves, but allowed both goals in net for the Lady Cats.

IUP improved to 3-0-0 overall and 3-0-0 in the PSAC.

Pitt-Johnstown begins a stretch of four consecutive PSAC road matches at Clarion University on Saturday.  The Lady Cats will return home to host a conference match against Edinboro University on September 27 at 1 p.m.
