Lady Cats Suffer 3-1 PSAC Loss at Mansfield

2004Maura Koshute gave the Lady Cats an early lead, but Mansfield University stormed back with three unanswered goals of its own to hand Pitt-Johnstown a 3-1 PSAC road loss on Wednesday.  The Lady Cats dropped to 0-7-0 overall and 0-6-0 in conference-play.
 
Koshute finished Savanna Wingard's pass from midfield and found the back of the net 12 minutes into the match to give Pitt-Johnstown an early 1-0 advantage.
 
Mansfield countered two straight goals to go up 2-1 at the half.  Brielle Filtch knotted it at one in the 24th minute, before Nicole Wynn took a deflection and beat Lady Cat goalkeeper Leeann Gorman 13 minutes later.
 
Danielle Lentz increased it to 3-1 in the 55th minute and Mansfield goalkeeper Alana Greenawalt held Pitt-Johnstown scoreless the rest of the way.
 
Pitt-Johnstown, which was outshot 34-11, got 14 saves from Gorman.  Alana Greenawalt earned the win in goal for the Mounties after making five  saves, and allowing one goal.
 
With the win, Mansfield improved to 2-5-0 overall and 2-5-0 in the PSAC.
 
Pitt-Johnstown hosts a Homecoming PSAC match against Edinboro on Saturday at 1 p.m. at the Pitt-Johnstown Soccer Field, before hosting another conference match against California University (PA) on Tuesday at 4 p.m.
