16th ranked California University (PA) scored five goals in the first 20 minutes on its way to handing the Lady Cat soccer team 5-1 PSAC loss, Tuesday afternoon at the Pitt-Johnstown Soccer Field. Maura Koshute netted the lone goal for the Lady Cats, now 0-9-0 overall and 0-8-0 in the PSAC.
Janelle McCann finished a cross in the box in the first minute to open to the scoring. Chelsea Crockett made it 2-0 six minutes later, before McCann scored again just two minutes after that.
Crockett notched her second goal of the match in the 13th minute and Morgan Bullock increased the score to 5-0 in the 20th minute.
Pitt-Johnstown got on the score board in the 72nd minute when Koshute finished a long breakaway pass from Ashley Jackson.
Leeann Gorman suffered the loss in the net for Pitt-Johnstown after seeing 29 shots and making 10 saves. Michaela Colon made three saves and allowed one goal to earn the victory for the Vulcans.
Pitt-Johnstown travels to Slippery Rock University on Saturday for a PSAC match, before going to Davis and Elkins (WV) College for a non-conference match on Tuesday.
