Edinboro turned a three-point deficit into a nine-point second half lead with a 20-8 on their way to a 77-61 PSAC victory over the Mountain Cats, Saturday afternoon in the Sports Center.Â
Dale Clancy matched his career-high with 15 points to lead Pitt-Johnstown, now 9-9 overall and 6-8 in the PSAC West.

The Mountain Cats started fast and opened-up a 12-6 lead five minutes in on
A.J. Leahey's 3-pointer, but Edinboro answered with a 16-2 run over the next eight minutes to build an eight point advantage of its own.

Henri Wade-Chatman scored the first nine points of the run, and Jaymon Mason's free-throw at 6:55 capped it to put the Fighting Scots in front 22-14.

Jake Laravie's 3-pointer just over two minutes later got the Mountain Cats back to within one, but Edinboro held on to the lead the rest of the half.

The Fighting Scots rebuilt the lead to six on two Tommy Scales' free-throws with 59 seconds remaining, before
Rich Audu's 3-pointer narrowed Pitt-Johnstown's deficit to 29-26 at the half.

Edinboro continued to hold the lead for the first six minutes of the second half, but Audu connected on another 3-pointer to tie it at 36, and Clancy followed with a 3-pointer of his own at 13:47 to put Pitt-Johnstown up 39-36 to mark the first time the Mountain Cats led since the 12:57 mark of the first half.

However, the Fighting Scots countered and outscored Pitt-Johnstown 20-8 over the next seven minutes to retake the lead at 56-47 on Scales' dunk.

Leahey answered with a 3-pointer for the Mountain Cats to get it down to six, but Edinboro maintained the momentum and pushed its lead out to 69-54 on a 3-pointer from Wade-Chatman with 3:28 to play.

The Mountain Cats never got closer than 12 the rest of the way and suffered the 16-point loss.

Clancy finished with 15 points and four assists, while
Matt Palo added 14 points, seven rebounds, and four assists to lead the Mountain Cats. Audu had eight points and seven rebounds, and Leahey collected seven points and five rebounds.

Ian Vescovi had six rebounds and currently ranks 10
th on the Mountain Cat All-Time Rebounding List with 580 rebounds. Â Vescovi is also 71 points shy of becoming Pitt-Johnstown's 26
th 1,000-point scorer.

Pitt-Johnstown, which was out rebounded 51-35, shot a season-low 32.3% (20-62). The Mountain Cats were 8-22 from 3-point range and just 13-21 from the charity stripe. Edinboro shot 45.2 (28-62) from the floor, 2-10 from behind the 3-point line, and 19-25 from the free-throw line.

Wade-Chatman poured in a game-high 27 points to pace Edinboro. Casey Baker had 19 points and 10 rebounds, and Scales tallied 13 points and 11 rebounds for the Fighting Scots, who improved to 9-9 overall and 6-8 in the PSAC West.

The Mountain Cats travel to a PSAC game at Clarion on Wednesday, before returning home to host a conference doubleheader with the Lady Cats against Slippery Rock on Saturday in the Sports Center. The Lady Cats will tip-off at 1 p.m., with the men's game to follow at 3 p.m.Â
