The 16^th-ranked Mountain Cat wrestlers got falls from Sam Hanau at 141 lbs. and Adam Nickelson at 184 lbs. on their way to handing Ashland (OH) University a 30-11 loss, Friday night in the Sports Center.  Pitt-Johnstown improved to 3-1... (Full Results)
 
Evan Link's forfeit win at 125 lbs. put the Mountain Cats in front 6-0 to start, but two-time All-American and second-ranked Michael Labry got Ashland right back in it with a 12-4 major decision over Corey Bush at 133 lbs.
 
Pitt-Johnstown followed with two straight wins to build the lead to 15-4.  At 141 lbs., sixth-ranked Sam Hanau pinned Ty Davis at 3:46, before returning National Qualifier used a second period escape point and a point for riding time to defeat Grady Millick, 2-1, 1t 149 lbs.
 
Ashland's Zeb Beam then got a point for riding time to break a 2-2 tie and earn a 3-2 victory over Steve Edwards at 157 to cut it to 15-7, but Pitt-Johnstown answered with an 8-1 decision by seventh-ranked Tyler Reinhart over Kyle Burns to rebuild the lead to 11.
 
The Mountain Cats extended it to 27-7 with wins from John Blankenship at 174 lbs. and Adam Nickelson at 184 lbs.  Blankenship scored a 5-2 win over Luke Cramer with the help of two third period takedowns, and Nickelson fell behind after two periods, but bounced back and pinned Kurtis Schaefer at 5:26 to seal the victory for the Mountain Cats.
 
After a major decision win by Ashland at 197 lbs., Pitt-Johnstown's D.J. Sims closed it out with a 7-1 decision over Tyler Shank at 285 lbs. to record his first career dual meet win.
 
With the loss, Ashland dropped to 3-2.
 
Pitt-Johnstown travels to Gannon University on Wednesday, before hosting Alderson-Broaddus (WV) College on January 16 and Seton Hill University on January 21.  Both home matches will start at 7 p.m. in the Sports Center.
