Cambria Wierman had a match-high 11 kills, and
Allison Mondorff and
Marissa Erminio had 10 kills each to help the Lady Cat volleyball team extend their winning streak to 12 straight matches with a 25-19, 25-23, 25-18 non-conference sweep at Alderson-Broaddus (WV) College on Wednesday. Pitt-Johnstown improved to 16-2 on the season.

Alderson-Broaddus jumped out to a quick 8-4 first set lead on a Lauren Daudelin kill, but Pitt-Johnstown answered with a 9-2 run, capped by a pair of Mondorff kills and two straight errors by the Battlers, to go in front 13-10. Pitt-Johnstown never gave up the lead again. A kill by
Kendall Mahony increased it to 19-13, before Wierman's seventh kill of the set gave the Lady Cats the 25-19 win.

Three straight service aces from
Devan Orr gave Pitt-Johnstown an early lead to open the second set, but Alderson-Broaddus scored five of the next six points to take a 5-4 lead. The Lady Cats recovered and used kills from Erminio and
Madeline George to rebuild the lead to 10-6. After Pitt-Johnstown pushed its lead out to 22-16, the Battlers stormed back to cut it to 24-23, but another kill by Mondorff put the Lady Cats up 2-sets-to-none with the 25-23 victory.

Alderson-Broaddus took advantage of four Pitt-Johnstown errors and used an Elise Wolff kill to open up a 5-0 third set lead, before the Lady Cats followed with six unanswered points to go up 6-5 on
Larissa Swank's kills and Orr's ace. After the Battlers knotted it at 10, Erminio's kill closed out a 6-0 Pitt-Johnstown spurt that extended it to 16-10. Alderson-Broaddus clawed back to within one at 18-17, but Pitt-Johnstown finished with a 7-1 to close out the sweep with a 25-18 win.

Wierman finished with 11 kills and eight digs, while Mondorff had 10 kills, 20 set assists, and five digs, and Erminio had 10 kills to lead Pitt-Johnstown. Â Mahony collected eight kills, five digs, and two blocks, and George tallied five kills and three blocks.

The Lady Cats also got 22 assists from
Jessica Dillon, 11 digs from
Delaney Roman, and nine digs and five aces from Orr in the victory.

Alderson-Broaddus, which dropped to 9-13 on the year, was led by Jayla McCrary and Daudelin's six kills.

The Lady Cats will host a 2015 PSAC Crossover on Friday and Saturday in the Sports Center. On Friday, Pitt-Johnstown will take on Indiana (PA) at 11:30 a.m. and Clarion University at 7:30 p.m., before playing Seton Hill University at 10 a.m. and California University (PA) at 6 p.m. on Saturday.Â
