Cambria Wierman, this week's PSAC East Volleyball Player of the Week, followed-up her 15-kill performance against Lock Haven University on Tuesday with 14 more kills, nine digs, and three blocks in a 3-0 Pitt-Johnstown sweep at East Stroudsburg University on Friday. The Lady Cats made it 10 straight victories and improved to 14-2 overall and a perfect 8-0 in the PSAC Eastern Division.
Pitt-Johnstown earned a tight 25-23 victory in the first set, then coasted to a 25-15 win, before closing out the match by holding off the Warriors, 28-26, in the final set.
Along with Wierman match-high 14 kills,
Marissa Erminio had nine kills and a pair of blocks, while
Kendall Mahony added seven kills, fiver service aces, and three blocks for Pitt-Johnstown.
Madeline George finished four blocks, and
Allison Mondorff (14 assists) and
Jessica Dillon (13 assists) combined 27 set assists. The Lady Cats also got 13 digs from
Delaney Roman and nine digs from
Brittany Saetre in the straight sets win.
Desiree Claxton and Tina Predojevic finished with 12 and nine kills, respectively for East Stroudsburg, which fell to 6-12 overall and 1-7 in the PSAC East.
Pitt-Johnstown travels to a conference match at Kutztown University on Saturday and a non-conference match at Alderson-Broaddus (WV) College on Wednesday, before hosting a PSAC Crossover on next Friday and Saturday in the Sports Center.Â
