Bob Rukavina's team took control of the game early as Pitt-Johnstown raced out to a 20-8 lead 10:13 seconds into the game and never looked back.

After Richard Smith hit a free throw for the Vulcans with 9:26 left in the half, the Mountain Cats scored 22 of the next 32 points, earning a 42-19 halftime lead. Ten of Leahey's 13 points were scored in the first half, he scored seven after 4:35 of play.

Pitt-Johnstown's lead grew larger to start the second half. The team was able to surpass a 30-point advantage when Snodgrass drained a three-pointer, giving his team a 50-19 lead with 17:20 left in the game.

The Mountain Cats did not miss many shots from beyond the arc, especially in the second half. The team made nine of 11 three-point tries after halftime, shooting 60% from long distance throughout the game.

The game's largest lead came with 3:20 remaining in the game when
Romano Sebastiani made a three-pointer on an assist from
Levi Masua, giving Pitt-Johnstown a 91-48 lead. The Vulcans were able to go on a 13-2 run to end the game, but it was not enough to overcome a lead over 40 points.

Cordell Smith tallied a team-high 13 points and Nate Bellhy added 11 points for the Vulcans as they fall to 0-3 overall and 0-1 in conference with the loss.

The Mountain Cats are to host PSAC doubleheaders with the Lady Cats against West Chester University on Saturday and Cheyney University on Sunday. Both doubleheaders are to be played at 1 and 3 p.m. at the Pitt-Johnstown Sports Center.Â
