Women's Basketball to Host Salem International on Tuesday

Johnstown, PA

3129Head Coach Mike Drahos' Lady Cat basketball team, 3-2 on the season, will host a non-conference game against Salem International (WV) University, Tuesday evening in the Sports Center.  Tip-off is set for 5:30 p.m.
 
Pitt-Johnstown bounced back from Wednesday's tough loss to fifth-ranked California (PA) with a pair of PSAC victories in the Sports Center over the weekend.  Pitt-Johnstown got 15 points and eight rebounds from Ana Hollen, and 12 points and 10 rebounds from Olivia McCabe in a 69-64 win over No. 25 West Chester on Saturday.  Laurel O'Barto also had 12 points against the Golden Rams.  On Sunday, McCabe added 20 points and 14 rebounds, and Olivia Rizzo collected 17 points to lead the Lady Cats to a 75-57 victory over Cheyney.
 
Senior center Jasmine Harper currently ranks 35th on the Pitt-Johnstown Scoring List with 1,026 points and 16th on the All-Time Rebounding List with 615 rebounds.  Harper is nine points shy of tying Deb Deaner (1975-79) for 34th-place on the scoring list and 25 rebounds away from tying Lynne Ashbridge (1986-90) for 15th-place on the rebounding list.
 
Salem International, under second-year Head Coach Lester Harbin, comes in with a 0-4 record following a pair of losses last week.  The Tigers suffered a 65-52 setback at Seton Hill on Wednesday, before Findlay (OH) dealt Salem International an 85-48 loss on Saturday.  Keishla Gilmore scored 15 points, while Toi Brown (12 points) and Samantha Aiken (11 points) also scored in double figures against the Oilers.
 
In the last meeting between the two teams, Pitt-Johnstown earned an 85-65 win in Salem, W.Va. on November 25, 2014.  Kayla DeCriscio scored 18 points on six 3-pointers, and Leah Hansen had 11 points, seven rebounds, and nine assists to lead the Lady Cats.  Salem's Shakinah Haggins finished with a game-high 20 points and eight rebounds, and Aiken chipped-in 16 points.
 
Pitt-Johnstown begins a stretch of four consecutive road games with PSAC contests at Seton Hill University on December 1 and Kutztown on December 4.  The Lady Cats will play their next home game on December 15 at 5:30 p.m. against the University of Charleston (WV).
