The Lady Cat volleyball team got 13 kills from
Cambria Wierman and 11 kills from Erminio to bounce back from Tuesday's loss at Lock Haven with a 25-14, 25-18, 25-15 PSAC sweep over Kutztown, Friday night in the Sports Center. Pitt-Johnstown, ranked second in the Atlantic Region, improved to 25-4 overall and 16-2 in conference-play.

Kutztown kept the first set close for a while and took a 5-4 lead on a Pitt-Johnstown attack error. The Lady Cats began to take control with a 10-4 run with the help of three Erminio kills and one each from
Maura Brehl and Wierman to go in front 14-9. The Golden Bears narrowed it to 15-12, but that was as close as it would get. Pitt-Johnstown scored seven of the next eight points to extend it to 22-13 on three straight Golden Bear errors, before closing out the 25-14 win on another Erminio kill and two more Kutztown errors.

After taking a 2-1 lead early in the second set, Pitt-Johnstown never gave it up the rest of the way. The Lady Cats made it 6-1 on Wierman's kill, before using a 7-1 run to break open a one-point set and building a 17-10 advantage, highlighted by two
Devan Orr service aces. Kutztown got as close as four, but
Larissa Swank's kill increased the Pitt-Johnstown lead back to six, before Erminio's kill and two consecutive Kutztown errors gave the Lady Cats a 25-18 victory.

The Lady Cats scored the first four points of the third set and raced out to a 13-4 lead on
Gabriell Carney's kill. Pitt-Johnstown never looked back. Brehl's kill increased the Lady Cat lead into double figures, before Brehl gave Pitt-Johnstown a 25-15 win and sweep over Kutztown.

Wierman had nine digs, four blocks and an ace to go along with her 13 kills, while Erminio had three digs and three blocks with her 11 kills. Brehl finished with seven kills and a pair of aces, and Carney had four kills for Pitt-Johnstown.

The Lady Cats also got 19 set assists and seven digs from
Allison Mondorff and 15 assists and seven digs from
Jessica Dillon. Â Orr added a match-high 19 digs, four assists and two aces in the victory.

Kutztown was led by Shannon Restrepo's five kills and Jessica Howe's four kills.

With the loss, the Golden Bears dropped to 8-23 overall and 5-14 in the PSAC Eastern Division.

The Lady Cats will travel to PSAC matches at Shippensburg on Friday, Millersville on Saturday, and Lock Haven on Tuesday.  Pitt-Johnstown will host its final two regular season home match and celebrate Senior Day against East Stroudsburg on Saturday 7 at 1 p.m., before closing out the regular season with road PSAC matches at West Chester and Cheyney next Friday and Saturday.Â
