A.J. Leahey scored 16 of his game-high 22 points in the second half, and
Dale Clancy added 20 points to help the Mountain Cats hold on for a 68-63 PSAC victory at Seton Hill on Tuesday. Pitt-Johnstown made it four straight wins and improved to 6-2 overall and 3-1 in the conference.

Clancy's second 3-pointer in the first four minutes, followed by an
Olando King, Jr. dunk tied the score at 11 and sparked a 9-2 Pitt-Johnstown run that put the Mountain Cats up by five. Leahey's put-back increased it to three, before
Dom Keyes' short jumper gave Pitt-Johnstown a 20-15 lead at the 8-minute mark of the first half.

Seton Hill came back to make it 21-20 on Lamell Washington's basket at 5:07, but a lay-up from Leahey and another King, Jr. dunk rebuilt the lead back to five at 25-20.

The Griffins answered again. This time, with an 11-4 spurt over the final 2:39, to take a two-point halftime advantage.   Seton regained the lead on a pair of Kameron Taylor free-throws, and went into the break up 31-29 on Taylor's jumper with four seconds remaining.

Free-throws from Clancy and a basket from
Nate Snodgrass helped Pitt-Johnstown regain the lead to begin the second half.

The Mountain Cats then broke a 37-37 tie with a 9-2 run over the next 3:27 to extend it to 46-39. Back-to-back Leahey 3-pointers made it 43-39, and buckets from Clancy and Leahey increased it to seven at 12:04.

Seton Hill clawed back to cut it to two on a pair of occasions, with the last coming at 56-54 with 5:39 left on a Noah Davis free-throw, but Pitt-Johnstown scored the next eight points, including jumpers from
Isaac Vescovi and Snodgrass, to increase it to 62-52 with 2:37 to play.

The Mountain Cats never let Seton Hill get any closer than five the rest of the way.

Leahey finished with 22 points and eight rebounds, and Clancy had 20 points, including 6-6 from the free-throw line to pace Pitt-Johnstown. Snodgrass chipped-in 14 points, while Vescovi had five points, and Keyes pulled down six rebounds in the victory.

After shooting just 35% in the first half, the Mountain Cats ended the night shooting 40.1% (24-59) from the floor and 7-23 from behind the 3-point line. Pitt-Johnstown also connected on 13-20 from the free-throw line. Seton Hill, which held a 38-32 advantage in rebounding, shot 47.9% (23-48) from the field, but just 2-12 from 3-point range and 13-24 from the charity stripe.

Taylor tallied 20 points, and Tyler Bowling had 13 points and a game-high 13 rebounds for the Griffins, who fell to 1-5 overall and 0-3 in the PSAC.

The Mountain Cats continue a stretch of seven straight road games at Kutztown University on Friday and Mansfield University on Saturday. Pitt-Johnstown will play its next home game on January 6 against Shippensburg University as part of a PSAC doubleheader with the Lady Cats. Â
