Jasmine Harper scored 16 points and seven rebounds to lead Pitt-Johnstown to a 67-50 win over the University of Charleston (W. Va.) in non-conference action Tuesday at the Pitt-Johnstown Sports Center.

Harper's performance inches her closer to 27th-place and 12th-place on the Lady Cat All-Time Scoring and Rebound List respectively. She has currently tallied 1,094 career points, which is 23 points behind Kelsey Sleighter (2011-15), and also has accumulated 654 career rebounds, which is 27 rebounds behind Suzy Shimkus (1980-84).

Ana Hollen chipped in with 12 points and four rebounds, and Kayla DeCriscio added 11 points for the Lady Cats, who advanced to 6-5 overall with the victory.

Pitt-Johnstown started the game with a 6-0 run for the first 5:32 of the game after layups by Harper, Hollen and Leah Hansen, but was halted when Jamie Tabon committed a foul on the University of Charleston's Abby Watson, who made both free throws to make the score 6-2, Pitt-Johnstown.

After a three-pointer from DeCriscio with 2:49 left in the first quarter put the Lady Cats up 12-4. By the end of the quarter, Hollen hit a jumper with two seconds remaining that gave UPJ a 16-8 heading into the second.

A three-pointer by Chyress Lockhart in the next 30 seconds put the Golden Eagles within five points, trailing 16-11. In the next two and a half minutes, the Lady Cats went on an 11-0 run that was capped off by a layup from Hollen to go up 27-11 with 7:02 left in the half.

Charleston went on to score seven of the next eight points to trail 28-18 with 3:21 remaining in the half. Lockhart hit a three-pointer to get within ten points. The Lady Cats closed out the half with a 34-24 when Hansen made a layup with 12 seconds left.

The Golden Eagles were cold when it came to shooting from the field in the first half. The team went 9-for-23 (39.1%) from the field and 2-for-6 (33.3%) from beyond the arc. Pitt-Johnstown capitalized by shooting 14-for-24 (58.3%) overall and 5-for-8 (62.5%) from beyond the arc.

Lockhart drained a three-pointer to cut Pitt-Johnstown's lead once again to start the second half 32 seconds into the game, but still trailed 34-27. She hit another shot from beyond the arc 1:45 later, but the Golden Eagles still trailed at that did not change for the rest of the game.

Harper followed with a layup 15 seconds later to put the Lady Cats up 38-29. This was during a 13-2 that was finished off by a layup in the paint from Tabon with 1:46 left in the third quarter to give Pitt-Johnstown a 51-33. Two straight Golden Eagles led to the score being 51-37 going into the fourth quarter.

The Lady Cats' biggest lead of the came with 30 seconds left in the game when DeCriscio made a layup in the paint to put them up by 19 points, 67-48. A layup by Charleston's Kiara Johnson at the buzzer made the final score 67-50, Pitt-Johnstown.

Lockhart had a game-high 17 points and five assists and Johnson recorded a double-double (14 points and 11 rebounds) as the University of Charleston fell to 3-7 overall with the loss.

The Lady Cats are to travel to Gannon University Saturday at 5:30 p.m. in PSAC West Division action in a doubleheader with Mountain Cats. The team is to then have 12 days off before traveling to Wheeling Jesuit (W. Va.) University for a non-conference on New Year's Eve at 1 p.m.
