Twentieth-ranked Edinboro University scored three second half goals, including a pair after Kaitlyn Eckley cut Pitt-Johnstown's deficit to one, in a 4-1 PSAC victory over the Lady Cat soccer team, Tuesday afternoon at the Pitt-Johnstown Soccer Field.  The Lady Cats fell to 0-9-0 overall and 0-9-0 in the conference-play.
 
Edinboro opened the scoring 13 minutes into the match when Alex Brown collected a ball that was deflected off of a Pitt-Johnstown defender and finished into an empty net.
 
The Lady Cats kept the Fighting Scots off of the scoreboard the remainder of the half, but less than five minutes into the second half, Halle Hammer's header off of Brown cross increased it to 2-0.
 
Pitt-Johnstown made it 2-1 in the 52^nd minute after Eckley found the back of the net off of Kyra Watkins' through ball into the box.
 
However, Edinboro added goals from Ashley Mutkus in the 68^th minute and Alex Root 40 seconds later to close out the scoring.
 
Pitt-Johnstown goalkeeper Leigh Appolonia took the loss after seeing 18 Edinboro shots and making two saves.  Sarah Maskey secured the victory for the Fighting Scots, who improved to 8-1-0 overall and 7-1-0 in the PSAC.  Maskey faced six Lady Cat shots, allowed one goal and made one save.
 
The Lady Cats will play three straight conference road matches beginning at Mercyhurst on Saturday and at Slippery Rock on October 5.  Pitt-Johnstown will play its next home match on Tuesday, October 11 at 4 p.m. when Daemen (NY) visits the Pitt-Johnstown Soccer Field for a non-conference match.
