The Pitt-Johnstown Women's soccer team could not overcome a two-goal halftime deficit against Slippery Rock Wednesday afternoon. The Rock netted a pair of first half goals, before adding an insurance goal in the 66
th minute on its way to the 3-0 PSAC victory. The Mountain Cats fell to 1-9-1 overall and 1-8-1 in conference-play.
Kaitlyn Barackman opened the scoring for Slippery Rock in the 36
th minute when she scored on a shot from the right side of the box.
Barackman quickly helped The Rock make it 2-0 when her cross was finished by Skye Kramer in the 37
th minute.
Slippery Rock's Brooke Testa then set the final at 3-0 when she turned Tess Keeley's into a breakaway goal in the 66
th minute.
Pitt-Johnstown goalkeeper
Maria Mosquera took the loss for the Mountain Cats. Mosquera faced 15 shots and made six saves, but allowed all three goals.
Slippery Rock goalkeeper Kylie Downs earned the shutout after seeing 10 Pitt-Johnstown shots and making one save.
Pitt-Johnstown is scheduled to travel to Shippensburg University for a PSAC matchup on Saturday, before hosting a non-conference match Alderson Broaddus (WV) University on Tuesday at 3 p.m. t the Pitt-Johnstown Soccer Field.
