Johnstown, PA

Between games of Saturday's doubleheader, Pitt-Johnstown had its new floor dedication and recognized Rich Ragan, a former Mountain Cat basketball standout and 2010 Athletics Hall of Fame inductee for his fundraising efforts.

McCabe's lay-up gave Pitt-Johnstown a 9-4 lead to start, before a pair of Taylor Montana free-throws cut Bloomsburg's deficit to one.  The Cats got it back out to six on baskets from Alexis Harris and McCabe, and wrapped-up the first quarter up 14-10.

4911Another bucket by Harris at the six-minute mark of the second quarter pushed Pitt-Johnstown's lead into double digits at 30-20.  The Huskies cut it to seven on a Leah Myers free-throw, but the Cats got a 3-pointer from Harris and a lay-up from Laurel O'Barto to take a 35-24 lead at the half.

Pitt-Johnstown never let Bloomsburg get any closer than eight the entire second half.  The Cats increased it to 14 on Gabrielle Smith's basket 3:33 into the third quarter and maintained the double digit lead the rest of the quarter.

The Huskies didn't get the deficit under 10 until Alyssa Mack hit a 3-pointer with five minutes left in regulation.  Bloomsburg got it down to eight on another Taylor free-throw with 52 seconds left, but O'Barto and McCabe connected on four straight free-throws down the stretch to seal the 11-point victory.

Pitt-Johnstown, which held a 49-31 advantage in rebounding, shot 37.5% (24-64) from the field, 1-13 from 3-point range, and 14-21 from the free-throw line.  Bloomsburg ended the day shooting 37.7% (20-53) from the floor, 3-9 from behind the 3-point line, and 9-15 from the Charity stripe.
