After Friday's win over Atlantic Region No. 4 Clarion University, the Pitt-Johnstown volleyball team, ranked fifth in the region was back at it on Saturday. This time, the Mountain Cats visited Atlantic Region No. 8 Indiana University (PA), but the outcome was not the same, as the Crimson Hawks won a pair of tight sets 25-23 and 27-25 to start, before completing the PSAC sweep with a 25-16 victory in the third set.
Cambria Wierman and
Caitlin Vrabel each had 10 kills for Pitt-Johnstown, which had their three-match winning streak snapped and slipped to 21-7 overall and 11-4 in the PSAC Central Division.
Pitt-Johnstown got two straight kills from Wierman to climb out to a 10-7 first-set lead, before IUP answered with an 8-2 run to go back in front 15-12 on a Natalie Cignetti kill and a pair of Mountain Cat errors. It stayed close the rest of the way. Pitt-Johnstown regained the lead by one on kills from

In the second set, IUP took advantage of two Alexis Anderson kills and an Ellie Burns' ace to build a 14-10 advantage. Pitt-Johnstown battled back to tie it on three occasions, including at 25 to force extra points on Vrabel's kill, but the Crimson Hawks followed with kills from Anderson and Jessica Ignace to secure the 27-25 victory and go up by two sets.

Vrabel's kill, followed by a Crimson Hawks' error put Pitt-Johnstown in front 7-5, but it was all IUP the rest of the way. After Egler's kill capped a 10-4 IU run that made it 15-11, the Mountain Cats were able to narrow the gap to 16-14, but that was as close as it would get.
