Softball Suffers Pair of 4-0 PSAC Losses to Bloomsburg

Johnstown, PA

After a 4-0 win in the opener, Bloomsburg University scored three runs in the first inning of the nightcap and went on to another 4-0 PSAC victory over the Pitt-Johnstown softball team, Saturday afternoon at V.E. Erickson Complex.  Pitt-Johnstown slipped to 14-22 overall and 3-15 in the PSAC Central Division.

In game one, Bridget Casey's solo home run in the top of the third inning was all the scoring Bloomsburg pitcher Mallory Tomaschik would need in the 4-0 win.

Tomaschik struck out 11 and held Pitt-Johnstown to just one hit, a Kelsey Feeney single in the second inning.

Melissa Wagner allowed four runs in seven innings and dropped to 10-10 in the circle for Pitt-Johnstown.

In game two, Bloomsburg jumped on Pitt-Johnstown starter Emily Moore for three first inning runs and went on to its second 4-0 win of the day.

Morgan Cannin, Amanda O'Toole, Allison Rizzo, and Feeney accounted for Pitt-Johnstown's four hits.

Moore fell to 2-7 after surrendering four runs (3 earned) on six hits in a complete-game effort.

With the sweep, Bloomsburg improved to 27-15 overall and 15-3 in the PSAC Central.

Pitt-Johnstown closes the 2017 season with a Senior Day doubleheader against Indiana (PA) on Saturday starting at 5 p.m. at V.E. Erickson Complex.
