Chase Kuhn and D.J. Vogelman each scored goals to help a young Mountain Cat men's soccer team open the 2017 with a 2-2 overtime draw with Shepherd (WV) University, Saturday afternoon at the Pitt-Johnstown Soccer Field.
 
Shepherd's Luis Prado scored his first of two goals 10 minutes into the match on a shot that deflected off a Pitt-Johnstown defender that landed in the back of the net.
 
The Mountain Cats answered at the end of the first half on when Kuhn finished Vogelman's assist in the 44^th minute.
 
Prado, who registered five shots on goal, netted his second goal of the day in the 66^th minute to put the Rams back in front, but Vogelman tied it on a penalty kick with 13 minutes remaining in regulation.
 
Rams goalkeeper Jacob Dougal faced 17 shots and made four saves.
 
Pitt-Johnstown goalkeeper Nate Kleya faced 20 shots and came away with 10 saves.
 
The Mountain Cats will travel to Wilmington, DE. For a non-conference match against Goldey-Beacom College on Thursday, before opening PSAC-play with a home match against Gannon on Wednesday, September 13.
