Tyler Rappposelli scored a hat trick and West Chester University scored three goals in a span of 5:30 to deal the Mountain Cat men's soccer team a 4-0 PSAC setback, Friday afternoon at the Pitt-Johnstown Soccer Field. Pitt-Johnstown fell to 0-5-1 overall and 0-3-0 in the PSAC
Jason Pixley put the Golden Rams in front 1-0 with a goal in the 32
nd minute, before Rapposelli accounted for the next three, including one just 21 seconds after Pixley's the made it 2-0.
Rapposelli then scored in the 38
th minute to give West Chester a 3-0 halftime advantage.
The score remained the same until the 69
th minute when Rapposelli completed the hat trick and set the final at 4-0 when he finished Giovanni Mowrey's chip over a Mountain Cat defender.
Nate Kleya suffered the loss in goal for Pitt-Johnstown. Kleya, who saw 26 Golden Rams' shots, surrendered all four goals and made eight saves.
Matt Palmer earned the shutout for West Chester. Palmer saw just a pair of Pitt-Johnstown shots and was not forced to make a save.
With the victory, the Golden Rams improved to 4-1-1 overall and 3-0-0 in the PSAC.
Pitt-Johnstown travels to a PSAC match at Mercyhurst on Sunday and to a non-conference match at Roberts Wesleyan (NY) on Wednesday, before returning home to host a conference match against Slippery Rock at the Pitt-Johnstown Soccer Field on October 4.
