
Hady Sarr scored five first half goals, and Fjodor van Kipperslui added a pair of first half goals to help Mercyhurst build a 9-0 halftime lead on its way to a 13-1 PSAC victory over the Mountain Cat men's soccer team, Sunday afternoon in Erie.
Taylor Sharlow scored for Pitt-Johnstown, slipped to 0-6-1 overall and 0-4-0 in the PSAC.
The Lakers opened-up a 2-0 lead eight minutes in on goals from Christopher Mankengo and van Kipperslui, before Sarr netted his first two goals in the 11
th and 21
st minutes.
Van Kipperslui increased it to 5-0 and Sarr scored two minutes apart in the 27
th and 29 minutes to increase it to 7-0.
Mercyhurst then got a penalty kick goal from Kyle Johnson in the 31
st minute, and Sarr tallied his fifth goal of the day just over a minute later to put the Lakers up 9-0 at the half.
After four more second half goals from Mercyhurst, the Mountain Cats got on the scoreboard when Sharlow scored his first career goal in the 87
th minute that set the final at 13-1.
The Mountain Cats travel to a n on-conference match at Roberts Wesleyan (NY) University on Wednesday, before hosting a PSAC match against Slippery Rock University on October 4 at 4 p.m. at the Pitt-Johnstown Soccer Field.
