West Chester University got goals from Jenny Bail and Lauren Pittman and went on to defeat the Pitt-Johnstown women's soccer team, 2-0, Friday afternoon at the Pitt-Johnstown Soccer Field. The Mountain Cats dropped to 1-6-1 overall and 1-5-1 in the PSAC
Bail opened the scoring and gave the Golden Rams a 1-0 in the 37
th minute when she finished Jade Burns' cross into the box.
West Chester added an insurance goal 12 minutes into the second half when Pittman scored off of Hannah Zach's cross that set the final at 2-0.
West Chester, which outshot Pitt-Johnstown 28-4 got a shared shutout in goal from Brook Myers and McKenna Mullin.
Leigh Appolonia took the loss in net for Pitt-Johnstown after making eight saves and allowing both in in the first 70 minutes.
Maria Mosquera played the final 20 minutes and held the Golden Rams scoreless, while making six saves.
With the win, West Chester improved to 4-1-1 overall and 4-1-0 in conference-play.
Pitt-Johnstown travels to PSAC matches at Mercyhurst on Sunday and Clarion on Wednesday, before returning home to host a conference match against Slippery Rock at the Pitt-Johnstown Soccer Field on October 4.
