
Anna Chamberlain's goal in the 22
nd minute gave a 1-0 halftime advantage, before the Golden Eagles tacked on two more late goals to deal the Pitt-Johnstown women's soccer team a 3-0 PSAC loss, Wednesday night in Clarion. The Mountain Cats slipped to 1-8-1 overall and 1-7-1 in conference-play.
Clarion scored the lone goal of the first half 22 minutes into the match when Anna Chamberlain finished Aaliyah Odam and Stephanie Lisa' assist.
The score remained the same until the final five minute when the Golden Eagles added a pair of insurance goals from Marina Kelly and Dani McNally off of
Maria Mosquera, who replaced
Leigh Appolonia in goal just one minute earlier.
Appolonia played the first 84 minutes in goal for Pitt-Johnstown, allowing one goal and making five saves. Mosquera surrendered two goal on two shots in the final five minutes.
Krista Mosi earned the shutout to help the Golden Eagles improve to 6-4-1 overall and 5-3-1 in the PSAC. Mosi faced five Mountain Cat shots and made two saves.
The Mountain Cats return home to host a conference match against Slippery Rock at the Pitt-Johnstown Soccer Field on Wednesday at 1:30 p.m., before traveling to a conference match at Shippensburg on October 7.
