
After nearly two weeks off the mat, the sixth-ranked Pitt-Johnstown wrestlers visited No. 25 Seton Hill for a key PSAC match on Tuesday.  It all came down to the match at 285 lbs., and 
D.J. Sims came through with a technical fall victory to lift the Mountain Cats to a 21-17 victory and help Pitt-Johnstown improve to 7-3 overall and 3-0 in conference action.
 
Pitt-Johnstown trailed by four entering the last two matches, but got a win by seventh-ranked 
Levi Niebauer to cut it to one, and Sims closed it out with a 21-4 technical fall over Jody Crouse at 6:54 to give Pitt-Johnstown the come-from-behind victory.
 
The Griffins jumped out to an 8-0 lead two bouts into the match. Vincent Distefanis earned a 5-4 win over Brandon Howard at 125 lbs., and Rodney Sunday followed with an 18-2 technical fall over 
Matt Siszka at 133 lbs.
 
Pitt-Johnstown cut the deficit in half at 141 lbs. when fifth-ranked 
Chris Eddins dealt Joel Cawoski a 14-2 major decision loss, before Seton Hill pushed it back out to 11-4 when No. 11 Joey Alessandro held off 
Corey Falleroni, 1-0, in the 149-lb bout.
 
The Mountain Cats came right back to take their first lead of the night.  At 157 lbs. second-ranked 
Cody Law pinned Austin Shaw at 3:30 to get it down to one, and 
Devin Austin won a 5-4 decision over Zach Voytek at 165 lbs. to give Pitt-Johnstown a 13-11 advantage.
 
Damian Greenwald used a takedown with 35 seconds remaining in the third period in a 6-5 win over 
Steve Edwards at 174 lb. to give the lead back to the Griffins and Zach Mattucci won an 8-6 decision over 
Alex Delp at 184 lbs. to increase Seton Hill's lead to 17-13.
 
With just two bouts left, the Mountain Cats had to win the both. Seventh-ranked 
Levi Niebauer kept Pitt-Johnstown in it and made it 17-16 with a 6-0 decision over Jake Temple at 197 lbs. and Sims built a 12-4 lead, the secured the technical fall to clinch the Mountain Cats' victory.
 
With the loss, Seton Hill slipped to 6-2 overall and 3-1 in the PSAC.
 
Pitt-Johnstown will host No. 24 Wheeling Jesuit (WV) University on Saturday and No. 18 Gannon University on January 26.  Both matches are scheduled to start at 7 p.m. in the Sports Center.
