
The sixth-ranked Pitt-Johnstown wrestlers got technical fall wins from
Joey Alessandro (141 lbs.),
Chris Eddins (149 lbs.), and
Brock Biddle (174 lbs.) and a decision by No 5
Levi Niebauer over No. 6 Colton Dull at 197 lbs. on its way to celebrating the 2018-19 home-opener and kicking off the PSAC schedule with a 30-6 win over No. 18 Millersville University, Friday night in the Sports Center. The Mountain Cats improved to 3-0 overall and 1-0 in the PSAC.
Pitt-Johnstown's
Brendan Howard build a 6-0 first period lead and went on to defeat Connor Sheehan 6-1 in the opener at 125 lbs., before Millersville answered to tie it with Ryan McGuire's 4-2 sudden victory over
Matt Siszka at 133 lbs.

However, the Mountain Cats quickly took control. Sixth-ranked Alessandro scored a 16-0 technical fall at 5:05 over Ryan Juarez at 141 lbs., and fourth-ranked Eddins followed with his own technical fall win at 149 lbs. Eddins defeated D.J. Mele, 19-0 at 4:23, to increase Pitt-Johnstown's lead to 13-3.
At 157 lbs.,
Gage Thomas earned an 11-4 decision over Nick Tomasiello to push it out to 16-3.
The Marauders snapped the streak of three straight losses with a win at 165 lbs. In a match-up between Millersville's fourth-ranked Shane Ruhnke and Pitt-Johnstown's fifth-ranked
Devin Austin, Ruhnke jumped out to a 6-1 second-

period lead, and downed Austin 12-6 to narrow the deficit to 16-6.
The Mountain Cats then got their third technical fall victory with an 18-2 win at 4:44 by Biddle at 174 lbs., and
Alex Delp's 7-2 win at 184 lbs. over Ryan Kokawski built the lead to 24-6 and lock-up the Pitt-Johnstown victory with two bouts remaining.
Pitt-Johnstown's fifth-ranked
Levi Niebauer and the Marauders' sixth-ranked Colton Dull met at 197 lbs. Niebauer held a 2-0 lead entering the third period and used a point for riding time to pick-up a 3-1 win.

Pitt-Johnstown closed out the 30-6 victory with a 6-5 decision by
Tyler Oliver over Josh Walls at 285 lbs.
With the loss, Millersville dropped to 1-1 overall and 0-1 in the PSAC.
Pitt-Johnstown travels to 16th-ranked Kutztown for a PSAC match on Tuesday, before hosting 13th ranked Ashland (OH) on December 1 at 3 p.m. in the Sports Center.
