5960The No. 4-seeded Pitt-Johnstown volleyball team will host fifth-seeded California University (PA) in Tuesday's PSAC Volleyball Tournament Quarterfinals.  Tip-off is set for 7 p.m. in the Sports Center.

ADMISSION CHARGES FOR ALL ROUNDS OF THE TOURNAMENT ARE $10 FOR ADULTS AND $5 FOR STUDENTS.  NO ADMISSION CHARGE FOR STUDENTS WHO ATTEND A PSAC INSTITUTION.
 
Pitt-Johnstown enters the tournament at 18-12 overall and 12-6 in the PSAC.  The Mountain Cats won their final two regular season matches.  On Friday, Pitt-Johnstown got a match-high 22 kills from Maura Brehl, the PSAC Central Volleyball Athlete of the Week the previous four weeks, in a 3-0 sweep at Bloomsburg, before Noelle Carota and Caitlin Vrabel tallied 11 kills apiece in a sweep at Lock Haven in Saturday's regular season finale.
 
The Mountain Cats are led by Brehl's 3.72 kills per set.  Pitt-Johnstown is also getting 2.90 kills per set from Carota and 2.38 kills per set from Vrabel.
 
5961California (PA), 19-11 overall and 12-6 in the PSAC Southwest Division, swept Indiana (PA) on Friday behind 17 kills from Rachel Priore and 10 kills from Lois van Schaik.  On Saturday, Clarion dealt the Vulcans a four set loss.  Sarah Moehring (13 kills), van Schaik (12 kills), and Priore (10 kills) all finished in double-figure kills.
 
Priore (3.27 kills per set), van Schaik (3.03 kills per set), and Moehring (2.68 kills per set) lead California (PA).
 
Pitt-Johnstown and California (PA) met in the Sports Center and the Vulcans came away with a tight, five-set victory.  Priore finished with 20 kills, while van Schaik and Moehring each had a dozen kills for the Vulcans.  Brehl's 20 kills and Vrabel's 13 kills led the way for Pitt-Johnstown.
 
5957The winner will advance to take on the winner of the No.1-seed Gannon-No. 8-seed East Stroudsburg on Friday at 5:00 or 7:30 p.m.
