Brock Biddle's pin at 174 lbs. gave the eighth-ranked Pitt-Johnstown wrestlers a 13-point lead and proved to be important, as the Mountain Cats held on for a 20-16 victory over Colorado State-Pueblo, despite three straight wins by the Thunder Wolves to close out the match.  Pitt-Johnstown made it 14 consecutive wins and improved to 7-0.
 
Pitt-Johnstown took an early 3-0 lead on Brendan Howard's 7-6 decision win over Josiah Seaton, but Colorado State-Pueblo quickly took a one-point lead of its own when fifth-ranked D'Andre Brumfield dealt Matt Siszka a 13-5 major decision loss at 133 lbs.
 
However, the Mountain Cats regained control.  Fifth-ranked Joey Alessandro scored an 18-2 technical fall at 6:27 over Paul Garcia at 141 lbs. that gave the lead back to Pitt-Johnstown and No. 1-ranked Chris Eddins shut out Jasiah Williams, 6-0, at 149 lbs. to make it 11-4.
 
The Thunder Wolves cut it to 11-7 with a 6-3 win by Gavin Melendez at 157 lbs., but that was as close as it would get.
 
At 174 lbs., Biddle picked-up his second fall of the day.  This time, Biddle pinned Jair Flores at 1:20 in build the lead to 20-7, and that proved to be enough for the Mountain Cats.
 
Colorado State-Pueblo went on to win the final three bouts but it was too late.
 
The Thunder Wolves used a take down by Tarrence Williams with 16 seconds remaining in the final period to defeat Mike Geyer, 6-4, at 184 lbs.
 
Colorado State-Pueblo then got a 13-7 win by Haszell West over Alex Delp at 197 lbs. and a 10-3 win by Gavin Nye over Tyler Oliver at 285 lbs. that set the final at 20-16.
 
Colorado State-Pueblo, which upset second-ranked Nebraska-Kearney earlier in the year, slipped to 2-1.
