After suffering a 4-3 loss to Bloomsburg in Saturday's PSAC-opener at V.E. Erickson Complex, the Pitt-Johnstown softball team rallied for three runs in the bottom of the fifth inning to secure the split with a 5-4 victory in the nightcap.
Stacey Walling and
Jade Stubblefield each homered for Pitt-Johnstown, now 3-9 overall and 1-1 in the PSAC Central Division.
In the opener, Bloomsburg battled from three one-run deficits, before taking its first lead in the sixth inning on its way to the 4-3 victory.
Olivia Porter's triple to the right field gap scored
Marley Elbin to give Pitt-Johnstown an early 1-0 first inning lead.
Bloomsburg tied it on Ashli Venokur's sacrifice fly in the top of the second, but Elbin's RBI double in the third chased home
Morgan Cannin to give the lead back to Pitt-Johnstown.
Marissa Shelhamer's solo homer to left in the Huskies' fourth tied it at two, before Pitt-Johnstown got an RBI infield single from
Amanda O'Toole to regain the lead in the bottom of the frame.

That lead was short-lived because Emily Mayhew connected for a solo home run in the fifth to knot it at three, and Shelhamer doubled with one out in the sixth and scored the eventual game-winner on Venokur's long single off of the left field fence.
Elbin, Porter and O'Toole all had hits and one RBI to lead Pitt-Johnstown.
Melissa Wagner pitched a complete game in the circle for the Mountain Cats, but fell to 0-4 after surrendering four runs on nine hits.
In game two, Pitt-Johnstown erased a 4-2 deficit with three runs in the fifth and went on to the 5-4 victory.
Back-to-back homers from Walling and Stubblefield to lead off the bottom of the second inning put Pitt-Johnstown in front 2-0.
Bloomsburg answered with Alexa Erney's three-run homer in the four and added one more in the fifth to go up 4-2.
However, the Mountain Cats loaded the bases in its half of the fifth and cut it to 4-3 when Walling was hit by a pitch. With one out and the bases still loaded, Stubblefield's ground ball went through the legs of Bloomsburg shortstop Abbey Remley allowing pinch runners
Bree Ginther and Elbin to score to give the lead back to Pitt-Johnstown.
Mountain Cat starter
Kristen Coffay retired the next six Huskies in order to close it out and even her record at 2-2. Coffay surrendered four runs (3 earned) on seven hits, and struck out four.
Walling homered and drove in a pair, while Ali Belgiavane collected two hits for Pitt-Johnstown.
With the split, Bloomsburg is now 9-10 overall and 1-1 in the PSAC Central Division.
Pitt-Johnstown will host a conference doubleheader against Lock Haven on Monday at 2:30 and a non-conference doubleheader against Seton Hill on Tuesday at 3 p.m. Both doubleheaders will be played at V.E. Erickson Complex.
