
Pitt-Johnstown took advantage of 23 hits, including home runs from
Taylor Hoover and
Kristie Radvan, to secure a 10-6 and 14-0 run-shortened non-conference sweep at Juniata College, Thursday afternoon. The Mountain Cats improved to 5-9 on the season.
In game one, Pitt-Johnstown scored five runs in the fifth inning to build a 7-0 lead and went on to the 10-6 victory.
The Mountain Cats opened the scoring with two unearned runs in the third inning.
Ashley Shor walked with one out and scored on
Morgan Cannin's ground ball that was misplayed by Juniata shortstop Kerigan Ammerman, before another error chased home Cannin from third.
Pitt-Johnstown added five more in the fifth, highlighted by Cannin's RBI triple and Radvan's two-run single, that pushed it out to 7-0.

The Eagles answered with six runs of their own in the bottom of the frame, but the Mountain Cats got two more in the sixth on
Taylor Hoover's RBI single and
Jade Stubblefield's sacrifice fly, and one more in the seventh to set the final at 10-6.
Cannin went 2-for-3 with a triple, two RBI, and three runs, and Radvan had two hits and drove in two for Pitt-Johnstown. The Mountain Cats also got two hits and an RBI from
Ali Belgiovane, and two hits and two runs from Shor.
Ashley Pagliei pitched a complete-game in the circle to improve to 1-2. Pagliei surrendered six runs (4 earned) on 10 hits to earn her first collegiate victory.
In game two, Pitt-Johnstown scored 13 runs in the span of two innings to break out a one-run game in the 14-0 victory.
Hoover's solo home run to left field gave Pitt-Johnstown an early 1-0 lead.
Bree Ginther,
Sydney Flinn, Cannin and
Olivia Porter all drove in runs in the Mountain Cats' five-run fourth inning that increased it to 6-0.
In the eight-run fifth, Radvan belted a two-run homer, and Porter and
Montana Mang each had two-run doubles helped Pitt-Johnstown put it out of reach at 12-0.
Hoover went 3-for-4 with a home run, three RBI and three runs, and Porter had three hits and drove in three. Radvan collected a pair of hits, including a homer, and two RBI, while Ginther and Flinn both had two hits and one RBI, and
Stacey Walling scored three runs.
Kristen Coffay improved to 3-2 with the five-inning complete-game shutout. Coffay held Juniata to just four hits. Coffay also struck out five and didn't allow a walk.
With the loss, the Eagles dropped to 5-11.
Pitt-Johnstown travels to PSAC doubleheaders at Clarion on Friday and at Indiana (PA) on Saturday and to a non-conference doubleheader at West Liberty (WV) on Monday. The Mountain Cats will then host a pair of non-conference games against Salem (WV) University on Tuesday at 2:00 p.m. at V.E. Erickson Complex.
