
The Pitt-Johnstown Mountain Cats softball team split a double-header against Mansfield University, 4-3 in eight innings and dropping game two 6-5 at V.E. Erickson Complex in Johnstown. The Mountain Cats are now 8-12 overall and 4-4 in the PSAC Central. Mansfield is now 7-6 overall and 5-3 in the PSAC Central.

GAME ONE
Pitt-Johnstown got on the score board first in the second inning when
Ashley Shor singled to third base, scoring
Stacey Walling.

The Mountain Cats made it, 2-0, when
Taylor Hoover reached on an error scoring
Marley Elbin. In the fourth inning, Mansfield tied it up when Devin Jones singled through the left side scoring Alli McGovern.

In the third, Walling reached on an error scoring Elbin to take a, 3-2 lead. Mansfield answered in the sixth inning when Jones doubled down the left field line scoring Melanie Taylor.

In extra innings,
Jade Stubblefield walked-it-off, with a single to right field to score
Morgan Cannin.

Kristen Coffay got the complete game win for the Mountain Cats. Coffay gave up three runs, one earned on nine hits and striking out one.

Arianna Young took the loss for Mansfield. She pitched 7 and 2/3 innings, giving up four runs one earned on twelve hits and striking out two.

GAME TWO
Mansfield scored five runs in the top of the fifth highlighted by a Joelle Snyder double to right-center field.

McKenna Kern got the Mountain Cats on the board in the bottom of the second Inning on a double to left-center field.

In the top of the sixth inning, Casey Pearce doubled down the left-field line to make it, 6-1 Mansfield.

In the bottom of the sixth inning,
Olivia Porter hit a homerun to left field to make it, 6-2. Ali Belgiovani singled up the middle to add another, scoring Walling. Stubblefield singled through the right side and Hoover reached on a throwing error to make it, 6-5.

Mellisa Wagner took the loss for the Mountain Cats pitching 2 and 1/3 innings,, giving up five earned runs on three hits and striking out two.

Sierra Strom got the complete game win for Mansfield. Storm gave up five runs, four earned on twelve hits and striking out zero.

The Mountain Cats are scheduled to travel to Lock Haven University for a double header at 1:00 p.m. and 3:30 p.m. Saturday in a PSAC Central matchup.
