Abby LaDuke's first half goal proved to be the match-winner and
Leigh Appolonia's 11 saves led the Pitt-Johnstown women's soccer team to a 1-0 PSAC victory at Gannon University, Wednesday afternoon. The Mountain Cats improved to 3-2-0 overall and 3-2-0 in the PSAC.
LaDuke notched the lone goal of the match in the 37
th minute with a shot to the far left post off of an assist from
Kacey Sullinger.

Appolonia did the rest in net for Pitt-Johnstown. Appolonia faced 30 shots from the Golden Knights and made 11 saves to record her first shutout of the season.
The Mountain Cats were held to just five shots, but LaDuke was able to find the back of the net behind Gannon goalkeeper Hannah Pufpaff. Pufpaff made just one save and allowed the goal.
With the loss, the Golden Knights slipped to 3-2-0 overall and 2-2-0 in the PSAC.
Pitt-Johnstown will travel to a PSAC match at Lock Haven on Saturday, before hosting a non-conference match against Wheeling Jesuit (WV) on Monday at 4 p.m.
