Lock Haven University scored three goals in a seven-minute span of the first half in route to a 6-0 PSAC victory over the Mountain Cat soccer team, Saturday night in Lock Haven. Pitt-Johnstown dropped to 2-0-0 overall and 0-2-0 in conference-play.
Andrew Moore turned a through ball into a breakaway goal 23 minutes into the match to put the Bald Eagles in front, 1-0.
Three minutes later Matthew McDermott scored on a breakaway, before Reggie Holt finished a rebound off of Pitt-Johnstown goalkeeper
Jonathan Reboton in the 30
th minute to give Lock Haven a 3-0 halftime advantage.
The Bald Eagles increased it to 4-0 10 minutes into the second half when Colton Dillinger scored on a rebound off of Pitt-Johnstown replacement goalkeeper
Josh Zakrzewski, and Holt notched his second goal of the night in the 71
st minute.
Lock Haven tacked on a goal off of a free-kick with two minutes remaining that set the final at 6-0.
Reboton suffered the loss in net for the Mountain Cats after facing 20 shots and allowing three goals in the first half. Reboton also made eight saves. Zakrzewski played the second gal in goal and saw 23 shots, made nine saves, and surrendered three goals.
Lock Haven improved to 3-2-1 overall and 2-0-0 in the PSAC behind Camden Cook and Josh Wertz's combined shutout.
Pitt-Johnstown travels to a PSAC match at West Chester on Friday, before hosting a conference match against Mercyhurst on Sunday, September 23 at noon at the Pitt-Johnstown Soccer Field.
