Doug Goitia had a hat trick and West Chester jumped on Pitt-Johnstown for three goals in the first 25 minutes to build a 3-0 halftime advantage on its way to a 4-0 PSAC victory over the Mountain Cats, Friday afternoon in West Chester. Pitt-Johnstown fell to 2-4-0 overall and 0-3-0 in conference-play.
The Golden Rams got a goal from Goitia less than eight minutes into the match to open the scoring, before Nick Jachwak's free kick in the 20
th minute made it 2-0.
Goitia's second goal of the half, a header off of an Andrew Slater's cross, five minutes later put West Chester in front, 3-0 at the break.
Goitia then completed his hat trick and set the final at 4-0 six minutes into the second half when he finished an assist from Nicholas Meola.
Jonathan Reboton saw seven shots, made four saves, and surrendered three in the first 34 minutes in goal for the Mountain Cats.
Josh Zakrzewski played the final 56 minutes in net for the Mountain Cats and allowed one goal on 14 Golden Rams' shots. Zakrzewski also made four saves.
West Chester improved to 4-1-2 overall and 2-0-1 in the PSAC behind Will Marshall's shutout. Marshall made three saves for the Golden Rams.
Pitt-Johnstown hosts a PSAC match against Mercyhurst on Sunday at noon at the Pitt-Johnstown Soccer Field, before traveling to non-conference matches at Washington Adventist (MD) on September 28 and Shepherd (WV) on September 30.
