After nearly a month on the road to begin the season, the Pitt-Johnstown women's volleyball team will make its 2018 home debut in the Sports Center with PSAC matches against California University (PA) on Friday at 7 p.m. and Seton Hill University on Saturday at 1 p.m.
 
Prior to Friday's match against the Vulcans, Pitt-Johnstown will recognize last season's PSAC Championship team with a pre-match ceremony.
 
The Mountain Cats enter the weekend at 5-7 overall and 1-1 in the PSAC Central after opening PSAC play with a 3-sets-to-1 loss at Clarion last Friday and a 3-0 sweep at Indiana (PA) on Saturday.
 
California (PA) is 9-5 overall and 2-0 in the PSAC Southwest following last weekend's 3-0 victory over Lock Haven and 3-1 win over Bloomsburg.
 
In the last meeting, Marissa Erminio and Cambria Wierman each had a dozen kills to lead Pitt-Johnstown to a 25-21, 20-25, 25-15, 25-20 victory over California (PA) in the Sports Center on October 27, 2017.  Rachel Priore and Lois van Schaik had nine kills apiece for the Vulcans.
 
The Mountain Cats swept a pair of matches from Seton Hill last season, including a 29-27, 25-13, 25-11 sweep over the Griffins in the First Round of the Atlantic Region Tournament on November 11.  Erminio had a match-high 14 kills and Maura Brehl collected nine kills to lead Pitt-Johnstown, while Viktoria Farian and Jillian Livorse had eight and seven kills, respectively for the Griffins.
 
Following this weekend's matches, Pitt-Johnstown will host a non-conference match against West Liberty (WV) on Tuesday at 7 p.m. in the Sports Center, before traveling to PSAC matches at East Stroundsburg on September 28 and Kutztown on September 29.
