
The Pitt-Johnstown women's soccer team dropped a home-conference game, 1-0 to Mercyhurst Sunday afternoon. The Mountain Cats fell to 3-6-0 overall and 3-5-0 in the PSAC. Mercyhurst improved to 5-3-1 and 3-3-1 in conference.
After a scoreless first half, Mercyhurst got on the scoreboard in the 80
th minute when Maya Fanazini scored off a rebound.
Leigh Appolonia took the loss in net for the Mountain Cats. Appolonia faced eight shots, made three saves and allowed one goal.
Volde Wold earned the shutout win for Mercyhurst. Wold faced 15 shots and made eight saves.
The Mountain Cats travel to Clarion (Pa.) University Wednesday, before taking on Slippery Rock Oct. 3.
