#12 Gannon Erases Early Deficit to Down Mountain Cats, 5-1, in PSAC-Play

Johnstown, PA

7463Brady Brown's early goal gave the Mountain Cats a 1-0 lead, but 12th-ranked Gannon came back with five unanswered goals to defeat the Pitt-Johnstown men's soccer, team, 5-1, Saturday afternoon at the Pitt-Johnstown Soccer field.  The Mountain Cats dropped to 1-7-1 overall and 0-3-1 in the PSAC.
 
Brown took Josh Briscoe's cross and beat Gannon goalkeeper Chandler Hallwood in the 16th minute to put Pitt-Johnstown in front 1-0.
 
However, the Golden Knights answered right back tie it three minutes three minutes later on Austin Ludwik's first goal of the match.
 
Gannon the got goals from Anthony Marafioti in the 31st minute and Ludwik in the 42nd minute to build a 3-1 halftime advantage.
 
The Golden Knights then added second half goals from Abdullah Say and James Randall to set the final at 5-1.
 
Jonathan Reboton faced 23 shots in goal for the Mountain Cats and made six saves, while Hallwood made two saves for Gannon.
 
With the win, the Golden Knights improved to 9-1-0 overall and 2-1-0 in the PSAC.
 
The Mountain Cats travel to a PSAC match at Slippery Rock on Wednesday and to a non-conference match at Carlow on October 22.  Pitt-Johnstown will play its next home match on November 2 when California (PA) comes to Johnstown for a PSAC match.
