Clarion struck for a pair of goal in a three minute span in the second half to deal the Pitt-Johnstown women's soccer team a 2-0 PSAC road loss, Saturday evening in Clarion. The Mountain Cats slipped to 4-9-0 overall and 3-8-0 in the PSAC Western Division.
After a scoreless first half, the Golden Eagles got a goal from Jaci Bowser in the 54
th minute, before Madison Spitko scored three minutes later to give Clarion a 2-0 lead.
Brigid Stermel did the rest in goal for the Golden Eagles. Stermel earned the shutout and helped Clarion improve to 3-9-0 overall and 2-9-0 in the PSAC after facing 12 Pitt-Johnstown shots and making five saves.
Maria Mosquera took the loss in net for the Mountain Cats. Mosquera saw seven shots, made two saves, but allowed both goals.
Pitt-Johnstown will host a PSAC match against Seton Hill on Wednesday at 4 p.m. at the Pitt-Johnstown Soccer Field, before traveling to Mercyhurst for a conference match on Saturday.
