
Seton Hill scored a goal with 11 minutes remaining in regulation, before adding a penalty kick goal just over a minute later to earn a 2-0 PSAC Western Division victory over the Pitt-Johnstown women's soccer team, Wednesday afternoon at the Pitt-Johnstown Soccer Field. The Mountain Cat slipped to 4-10-0 overall and 3-9-0 in the PSAC.
Neither team was able to get on the scoreboard for the first 78 minutes, but Alyssa Neast finished a rebound off of a cross with 11 minutes left to give the Griffins a 1-0 lead.
Italia Biondi then added a penalty kick goal 1:33 later to give Seton an insurance goal and set the final at 2-0.
Pitt-Johnstown's
Maria Mosquera faced 23 shots and kept Pitt-Johnstown in the match by making 15 saves. Seton Hill goalkeeper Elyza Pilatowski saw 12 shots from the Mountain Cats and made three saves to secure the shutout.
With the win, the Griffins improved to 6-7-0 overall and 6-5-0 in the PSAC.
Pitt-Johnstown travels to PSAC matches at Mercyhurst on Saturday and Indiana (PA) on Wednesday, before returning home to celebrate Senior Day with a conference match against California (PA) on November 2.
