Noelle Carota and
Tatiana Pitcher each had 14 kills, but California University (PA) won the final two sets to secure a 3-sets-to-2 PSAC victory over the Pitt-Johnstown volleyball team, Friday night in the Sports Center. Pitt-Johnstown had its four-match winning streak snapped and slipped to 11-9 overall and 3-7 in the PSAC Southwest Division.
The Mountain Cats took the opening set, 25-22, but the Vulcans answered for a 25-21 win in the second set. Pitt-Johnstown then held on for a 27-25 win, before California (PA) followed with 25-19 and 15-10 wins to close out the 5-set victory.
Carota finished 14 kills, nine digs, and two block assists, while Pitcher had 14 kills and eight digs to lead Pitt-Johnstown.
Lauren Gechter added 12 kills and a pair of block assist.
Anna Johns had eight kills and six blocks and Caitlin

Vrabel collected eight kills.
The Mountain Cats were also led by
J.C. Longeville's match-high 52 set assists and nine digs and
Erin Carmody's match-high 33 digs.
Molly Ayres and Shaelyn tallied 12 and 10 digs, respectively for Pitt-Johnstown.
Madeleine McKenna's 14 kills led four Vulcans who finished in double figures in kills and helped California (PA) improve to 10-8 overall and 5-5 in the PSAC Southwest. Madison Kline (12 kills), Kaylin Burkey (11 kills), and Sarah Moehring (10 kills) also had double-digit kills for the Vulcans.
