Jade Stubblefield connected for a three-run home run and drove in four to lead the Pitt-Johnstown softball team to a 7-2 victory over New York Institute of Technology, Thursday morning in Clermont, Fla. The Mountain Cats improved to 2-3.
Pitt-Johnstown got off to a quick start.
Morgan Cannin led off the game with a base hit,
Bree Ginther walked, and Stubblefield followed with a three-run home run to left field to give the Mountain Cats an early lead.
In the third inning,
Kristie Radvan's double to center scored Stubblefield and
Ali Belgiovane. After a New York Institute of Technology pitching change,
Lauren Gohacki promptly doubled home Radvan to make it 6-0.

The Bears loaded the bases with one out in the bottom of the third, but managed just one run off of
Kristen Coffay, an RBI fielder's choice by Sydney Kratzert that plated Tori Fox.
The Mountain Cats got that run back in the sixth when Ginter singled with two outs and Stubblefield double to the gap in right center.
Mikea Lewis' RBI double in the New York Institute of Technology's last at-bat set the final at 7-2.
Stubblefield doubled, homered and drove in four, while Cannin went 3-for-4 for Pitt-Johnstown. Radvan had two doubles and scored a run, Gohacki had a base hit and an RBI, and Ginther added a hit and two runs.

Coffay evened her record at 1-1 after limiting the Bears to two runs on six hits in the complete-game effort. Coffay struck out four and walked one.
Ashley Budrewski had two hits for New York Institute of Technology.
