Dylan Broderick drove in two and
Braxton Roxby pitched six strong innings to lead Pitt-Johnstown to a 6-4 win over Indiana (PA) in Saturday's first game of a PSAC doubleheader at Point Stadium. The Crimson Hawks scored three runs in the bottom of the sixth to secure the split with a 3-2 victory in game two. The Mountain Cats took 3-of-4 in the series from IUP and are now 16-10 overall and 4-4 in the PSAC Western Division.
In game one, Pitt-Johnstown Broderick scored on a passed ball in the first inning, and
Zach Zinn scored on a passed ball in the fourth inning to put the Mountain Cats up 2-0.
The Crimson Hawks came back with a run in the fifth, but Broderick's two-run single in the Pitt-Johnstown sixth chased home
Lennox Pugh and
Tyler Smith, before
Cameron Gerhard drove Pugh and Smith in the seventh to increase the lead to 6-2.
IUP came back with two runs in the bottom of the seventh to set the final at 6-4.

Broderick went 2-for-4 with two RBI, and Pugh and Smith each had two hits for the Mountain Cats.
Roxby pitched the first six innings and allowed two runs on four hits to improve to 2-2. Roxby also struck out eight and walked two.
In the nightcap, the Mountain Cats scored two runs in the top of the sixth, but the Crimson Hawks rallied for three in the bottom of the frame to earn the split with the 3-2 come-from-behind victory.
RBI singles from
Asher Corl and
Nico Pecora in the Pitt-Johnstown sixth opened the scoring, but IUP came back with three in the bottom of the sixth.
The Crimson Hawks loaded the bases off of Mountain Cat starter
Joel Colledge.
Raymond Watt entered the game in relief and gave up a three-run double to Austin Mueller.
Mike Klingensmith, who pitched the final two innings in relief for IUP, pitched a scoreless seventh inning to earn the win for the Crimson Hawks.
Corl and Pecora each had two hits and an RBI for Pitt-Johnstown.
Colledge took the loss after giving up the three runs in the sixth. Colledge, 0-4 on the year, gave up just three hits.
IUP is now 7-14 overall and 1-7 in the PSAC West.
Pitt-Johnstown hosts a PSAC doubleheader against California (PA) on Friday at 1 p.m. at Point Stadium, before concluding the series with a pair of games against the Vulcans in Washington, Pa. on Saturday.
