Gabrielle Smith had game-highs of 23 points and 13 rebounds, but fourth-seeded Seton Hill pulled broke open a one-point fourth quarter game and ended fifth-seeded Pitt-Johnstown's season with an 80-64 victory in Monday's First Round of the 2019 PSAC Tournament in Greensburg. The Mountain Cats finished at 13-16.
The Griffins got off to a quick start with nine first half 3-pointers and climbed out to a 12-point halftime advantage.
Two of Megan Marecic's five 3-pointers in the first half help Seton Hill open-up a 10-point first quarter lead, before another 3-pointer from Marecic with 5:17 left in the half gave the Griffins a 31-17 lead.
Back-to-back baskets by Smith got Pitt-Johnstown back to within 10 three minutes later, but Seton Hill extended it to 16 on Tiana Stewart's 3-pointer just under four minutes later.

The Mountain Cats were able to cut it to 42-30 at the break on layups by Smith and
Maurina Nunn.
Pitt-Johnstown didn't go away and outscored the Griffins by nine in the third quarter.
Alli McGrath's bucket early in the quarter got the lead back under double digits, and McGrath's 3-pointer narrowed it to 50-48 at the 1:10 mark.
Smith then hit a pair of free-throws on the Mountain Cats' first possession of the fourth quarter to make it 53-52, but Seton Hill was able to push it back out to 10 on Cheyenne Trest's 3-pointer with 6:31 to play and the Griffins went on to the 16-point victory
Along with Smith's 23 points and 13 rebounds, McGrath added 22 points and seven rebounds to lead Pitt-Johnstown.
Alexis Hartwick scored five points, and
Tori Moreland grabbed six rebounds.
Smith will enter her senior season ranked 30
th on the Pitt-Johnstown All-Time Scoring List with 1,076 points. Smith 41 points shy of tying Kelsey Sleighter (2011-15) for 29
th-place on the scoring list.
The Mountain Cats shot an even 40.0% (26-65) from the field, 5-14 from behind the 3-point line, and 7-11 from the charity stripe. Seton Hill shot 47.7% (29-61), including 14-30 from 3-point range. The Griffins were also 8-14 from the free-throw line.
Marecic finished with 22 points, and Katie Nolan had a double-double of 15 points and 10 rebounds to pace four Griffins who scored in double figures.
With the win, Seton Hill improved to 19-10 and advances to the PSAC Quarterfinals to take on top-seeded Indiana (PA) on Wednesday.
