After suffering a 3-0 loss to Lock Haven in Saturday's PSAC Central Division doubleheader opener at V.E. Erickson Complex, the Pitt-Johnstown softball team bounced back behind
Jade Stubblefield's two RBI with a 3-1 victory in the nightcap to secure the split. The Mountain Cats are now 16-14 and 6-6 in conference-play.
In the opener, Lock Haven took a 1-0 first inning lead on Casey Carpenter's solo home run, before Rachel Gricoski connected for a two-run homer in the top of the sixth off of Pitt-Johnstown
Kristen Coffay to set the final at 3-0.
Bekah Slattery held the Mountain Cats to just a pair of hits, a double by
Carly Santillo and an
Ali Belgiovane single, to earn the complete-game shutout. Slattery, 12-7 on the year, also struck out nine and didn't allow a walk.
Coffay took the loss and dropped to 6-7 after allowing three runs on four hits in seven innings.

In the nightcap, Pitt-Johnstown scored all three of its runs in the third inning.
Morgan Cannin singled with two outs and
Olivia Porter reached on a Lock Haven error. Stubblefield then singled to left field to drive in Cannin and Porter, before
Kristie Radvan doubled to the gap in right-center to chase home Stubblefield.
Alyssa Hileman kept the Bald Eagles off the scoreboard until the top of the seventh when Carpenter belted her second home run of the day that cut it to 3-1.
However, Hileman was able to get the final three outs to pick-up the complete-game and improve to 6-2. Hileman allowed just one run on three hits, while fanning three and walking none.
Cannin went 2-for-3, while Stubblefield doubled and drove in a pair and Radvan doubled in a run to lead Pitt-Johnstown.
Becca Caputo, Sara Gsell, and Carpenter accounted for the three Lock Haven hits.
Kayla Gee took the loss after surrendering three runs on six hits over the first six innings.
With the loss, the Bald Eagles are now 20-14 overall and 6-4 in the PSAC Central.
Pitt-Johnstown will host a non-conference doubleheader against West Liberty (WV) on Wednesday at 3:00 p.m. at V.E. Erickson Complex, before traveling to PSAC Central doubleheaders at Bloomsburg on Friday and Clarion on Saturday.
