Jade Stubblefield's RBI single in the top of the seventh broke a 2-2 tied and helped lift the Pitt-Johnstown softball team to a 4-2 victory in Saturday's PSAC-opener at Mansfield.
Â
Joelle Snyder led off the Mansfield bottom of the first with a double, moved to third on a sacrifice bunt, and scored on Cassidy Smith's ground out to give the Mounties a 1-0 lead.
Â
The Mountain Cats tied it with a run in the third.Â
Carly Santillo walked and Hailee Markee entered the game as a pinch runner. Markee moved to second on
Sydney Flinn's sacrifice bunt, then to third on a passed ball, before scoring on a Mansfield throwing error.
Â
Olivia Porter's RBI single in the Pitt-Johnstown fifth inning plated Flinn, who led off the inning with a walk, to put the Mountain Cats on top, 2-1.
Â

Mansfield answered right to tie it in the bottom of the fifth when Leah McGovern came around to score on Lacy O'Donnell's double down the left field line.
Â
However, the Mountain Cats regained the lead for good in the sixth.
Morgan Cannin singled with one out and advanced to second when Porter reached on a fielder's choice. Stubblefield followed with a run scoring base hit, that plated Cannin and moved Porter to third. Porter then scored from third on a wild pitch to give Pitt-Johnstown a 4-2 advantage.
Â
Kristen Coffay went out and pitched a scoreless seventh inning to close out the complete-game and even her record at 5-5. Coffay surrendered just two runs on five hits, while striking out one and walking none.
Â
Kristie Radvan had two hits, while Porter and Stubblefield each had a hit and drove in a run for the Mountain Cats.
Â
Arianna Young suffered the loss in the circle for Mansfield and slipped to 3-3 after allowing four runs (1 earned) on seven hits in seven innings.
Â
Pitt-Johnstown will host a PSAC doubleheader against on Bloomsburg on Sunday at 1:00 p.m. at V.E. Erickson Complex, before hosting a non-conference doubleheader against Salem (WV) University on Tuesday at 2 p.m.
