Olivia Porter finished with four hits and three RBI, and
Ashley Pagliei and
Alyssa Hileman each tossed complete-game shutouts to lead the Pitt-Johnstown softball team to a 3-0 and 10-0 (5 innings) non-conference sweep over Salem (WV) University, Tuesday afternoon at V.E. Erickson Complex. The Mountain Cats improved to 15-11 on the year.
In game one,
Jade Stubblefield's first inning solo home run to left gave Pitt-Johnstown an early lead.
The Mountain Cats added two more in the fourth.
Morgan Cannin drew a two-out walk and Porter followed with a homer down the left field line.
Pitt-Johnstown starter Pagliei did the rest in the circle, including getting Kaleigh Decker to ground into a game ending double play that closed out the complete-game shutout. Pagliei, who evened her record at 3-3, limited Salem to five hits, while striking out two and walking two.

Porter went 2-for-4 with a homer and two RBI, Stubblefield belted a solo home run, and
Bree Ginther and Cannin each had two hits for the Mountain Cats.
Decker accounted two of the five Tigers' hits.
Christine Bombardiere took the loss for Salem after allowing three earned runs on nine Pitt-Johnstown hits.
In game two, the Mountain Cats struck for four runs in the second.
Taylor Mendicino singled and scored on
Sydney Flinn's groundout, before Cannin's fielder's choice allowed Hileman who also reached on a fielder's choice, to score. Two hitters later, Stubblefield doubled to right-center chasing home Porter and Cannin to make it 4-0.

Pitt-Johnstown broke it open with six more runs in the fourth. Hileman led off the inning with a single and came around to score on
Hailei Markee's triple. The Mountain Cats then took advantage of three Salem errors to tack on five more runs, including RBI from Porter,
Kristie Radvan, and Mendicino.
Mendicino went 3-for-3 with a double, an RBI, and a run for Pitt-Johnstown. Stubblefield had two this and drove in two, and Porter added two hits, an RBI, and two runs. Cannin, Markee, Radvan, and Flinn also drove in a run each for the Mountain Cats.
Hileman also got it done in the circle. Hileman held the Tigers scoreless on four hits, while striking out seven and walking none on her way to improving to 5-2.
Casey Moritz collected two hits, and Bombardiere and Decker each had a hit for Salem.
Rosey Romick dropped to 1-11 after giving up all 10 runs (2 earned) on 11 Mountain Cats hits.
With the sweep, the Tigers fell to 8-24.
Pitt-Johnstown will host PSAC Central doubleheaders against Indiana (PA) on Friday starting at 2:30 p.m. and Lock Haven on Saturday starting at 1 p.m. Both doubleheaders will be played at V.E. Erickson Complex.
